Time Line

2003 Global Art Exhibit was created to help realize the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals; to help create a world with universal primary education as a means to eradicate extreme poverty.
STA Travel sends out an initiative to all its employees to raise funds for a United Nations Charity sponsored project, the Sanghamitra Schoolhouse. Andres Espana hosted a dinner and recruited artist to donated work for an auction.

2004 The second annual charity dinner and art auction was held. We doubled our proceeds; raising 2600US for the Sanghamitra Schoolhouse.

2005 Andres Espana visited the Sanghamitra Schoolhouse to learn first-hand about the needs of the Dalit population in Southern India.

2006 Edgemar Event Benefit raised 4800US for the Sanghamitra Schoolhouse

2007 Global Art Exhibit was incorporated as a public benefit non profit organization in California.
Over 70 artists and volunteers came together to raise 9400US for the Sanghamitra Schoolhouse at the Epoxy Box Event.
The proceeds provided 680 one-year scholarships for school children in Southern India.

2008 Global Art Exhibit partnered with a Cambodian orphanage to help provide its children with clothing, food, and school supplies.
Global Art Exhibit partners with the Karan Women’s association in the Mae La refugee camp to help provide over 1700 children with school supplies.
Global Art Exhibit was registered as a Humanitarian Society in Hong Kong, China.
